{"id":648,"date":"2014-05-05T13:06:01","date_gmt":"2014-05-05T18:06:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/?p=648"},"modified":"2014-05-05T13:06:01","modified_gmt":"2014-05-05T18:06:01","slug":"a-special-surprise-meeting-jennifer-jones","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/2014\/05\/05\/a-special-surprise-meeting-jennifer-jones\/","title":{"rendered":"A Special Surprise: Meeting Jennifer Jones"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-651 alignleft\" title=\"Brian Denysuik &amp; Jennifer Jones\" src=\"https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones.jpg 960w, https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.creditaid.ca\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/05\/Jennifer_Jones-768x768.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/a>It was a very special day on Thursday, April 24th and one that I did not expect.<\/p>\n<p>I was invited to an economic update lunch by National Bank. \u00a0It started as a routine lunch but turned into a very special chance meeting with Jennifer Jones. \u00a0I had a chance to congratulate Jennifer Jones on her gold medal.<\/p>\n<p>A big hug and having\u00a0Jennifer tell the people around us that I provided her with her first\u00a0part-time job was indeed very special. \u00a0I got to know Jennifer&#8217;s dad back in\u00a0my Comcheq days, as Larry sold us our micro-fiche. \u00a0I always enjoyed chatting\u00a0with Larry and one day, he asked if I might have a summer job for his\u00a0daughter. \u00a0 Jennifer worked that summer and part-time for several years as\u00a0she took her law degree, curled and at one point, thought she should start\u00a0taking some CGA courses. \u00a0You might say she was driven and yes she knew how\u00a0to set goals.<\/p>\n<p>She had incredibly high standards and always took on all the\u00a0various jobs we would give her and she did them with a smile on her face no\u00a0matter how big or small the task was. \u00a0When I reflect back on all she\u00a0did including her part-time job coupled with becoming a lawyer and all the\u00a0curling &#8211; it was quite something. \u00a0I believe curling became part of the\u00a0Olympics in 1998 and I think Jennifer had set her goal on gold even before\u00a0curling was an official Olympic sport.<\/p>\n<p>In life, I have always believed you\u00a0can achieve whatever you put your mind towards and Jennifer &#8211; you are a true\u00a0example of this just like our clients here at Creditaid. \u00a0Our clients have\u00a0to set some really tough goals with their financial recovery and it can be a\u00a0tough journey with ups and downs, no different than the curling world.\u00a0Congratulations, Jennifer!
