POSITION SUMMARY:
The Credit Counsellor’s role is to advise and educate clients on the best solution available for their current debt situation. Empathy and a genuine desire to work as part of a team and help people is a key part of this role. You will gather financial information, create action plans to assist clients with their budget and find solutions to meet the needs of clients.
This position may have the opportunity to grow to full time.
EDUCATIONS/EXPERIENCE, SKILLS:
- Post secondary education and or/relevant work experience is desirable.
- Customer service experience required, with previous banking/financial industry experience an asset.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Strong organizational abilities, including the ability to multi-task while ensuring attention to detail.
- Empathetic and professional phone manner, demonstrating active listening skills.
- A solutions-focused approach with the ability to adapt to change.
- Ability to focus on finding beneficial solutions for clients and resolving concerns.
- Understanding of consumer credit and personal money management concepts.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Part-Time Receptionist
POSITION SUMMARY:
Minimum 9 hours per week. with additional hours as required including Thursday evenings and Saturdays.
Note our office is closed on Saturdays during the summer.
This position requires a well-organized individual to provide exceptional and compassionate customer service to existing and potential clients. The successful candidate needs to be eager to work, adaptable to change, able to multitask, prioritize, and provide support to our clients and staff. We are searching for a team player for our friendly office atmosphere.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Answering calls and inquiries from existing and potential clients and creditors
- Scheduling appointments and following up with daily appointment confirmations
- Responding to Online Chat inquiries
- Welcoming clients and guests to office
- Setting up new clients in database
- Accepting and recording payments from clients
- Batching and balancing daily payments and creating daily bank deposits
- Prepares Weekly mailing to potential clients
- General clerical duties (including photocopying, scanning, faxing, filing, mailing)
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE, SKILLS
- Grade 12 Diploma with post-secondary education and/or equivalent office experience work is desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft (including Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Ability to coordinate tasks, multitask, prioritize and work under pressure
- Shows initiative for and is adaptable to change
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential
- Ability to follow up is crucial
- Excellent customer service skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Professional, friendly, and compassionate
